The Oceania Standard and Junior Championships provided an exciting weekend of racing highlighted by standout performances and valuable learning experiences for our athletes.

Ty took on his first U23 race and made an impressive start proving he could match it with some of the world’s best in the swim and bike. He executed his race plan well, but as expected fell short in the run due to limited preparation. Regardless it was a great stepping stone for future races.

Lauren put together a strong race showing the steady improvement that has been a hallmark of her season. Her consistency and development are setting her up well for the races ahead.

Oli, Jake, Lauren and Madi are in the middle of a demanding race block with three key races in quick succession. Their focus now shifts to Rockingham next week where they’ll represent SSV at the All Schools Championships.

Mark and Mia gave everything on the day but it wasn’t their race this time. While the results may not have reflected their effort, the experience gained will be invaluable for their development.

Overall it was a weekend of tough racing, valuable learning moments and strong performances. Plenty to build on as we move into the next phase of the season.
