Motivation Month – Winning is a State of Mind That Needs to be Taught
We all love to win, but how can we achieve this?
Winning is an important psychological trait triathletes need both on race day and during training. Making decisions to commit to training, diet and sleep are all lifestyle habits which are taught to help build a winning mindset.
If you go into a race thinking you can’t or won’t win, then you’ve already lost. The belief you can win is as crucial as the physical side of training because your body will limit itself if you don’t believe you are the fastest.
Athletes who have learnt to be winners develop this into a habit. You build confidence and belief in yourself, further developing your mindset and overall performance.
…and as the saying goes, winners are grinners! Why not surround yourself with people/athletes who have proven they are successful?
